Each product on our site has an accompanying size chart. There are three main measurements that will help assist in selecting the right size. To measure, use a soft tailor’s tape. You will get the best results if your dog is standing up.
It is always best to have your dog try on a product, but if it's not possible you can follow some general fit guidelines listed below.
To get a paw measurement have the dog stand with their paw on a piece of paper. Ensuring the dog's weight is on the paw, draw a line to the left and right of the widest part of the paw. Now you can simply measure the distance between the two lines to get a paw width measurement.

You should be able to fit one finger easily under the collar when it's on the cat.
When adjusted properly, the two o-rings (or d-rings on the Technica Webbing Martingale) should just touch when the chain is pulled tight. They should never overlap each other.

Measure your dog's girth and match his/her weight to the proper size pack. Do not overload your dog. The maximum a dog should carry is 1/3 of his weight at peak performance. If your dog is not used to carrying a pack, gradually add weight to the pack over time to allow your dog to condition to the varying weight. Never over exert your dog and always monitor your dog when wearing a pack.
Select the appropriate size harness. Adjust front and chest straps. Harness should fit snug enough to avoid shifting, with about a fingers width of space for ease of movement.
Measure the widest part around the dog's chest. For in between sizes we suggest you go with the larger size for comfort and proper fit. Harness should be snug on the dog when the martingale loop is pulled tight. You should be able to slip two fingers under the webbing. The chest panel should sit below your dog's collar and the martingale loop across your dog's shoulder blades. Having a harness that is too loose will mitigate the martingale training effect, as the pressure under the arm is what will teach the dog not to pull.
After properly fitting the harness, let your dog become accustomed to the harness. Allow him to walk around without a leash attached. When you are ready to start, attach a leash to the harness. Let your dog move forward - if your dog pulls - the harness will tighten, sotp and turn the opposite direction with the leash pulled taught. Do not move forward until your dog has given slack on the leash. When your dog is walking beside you without pulling - praise him (offer treats if desired)
It may take a couple sessions to get your dog accustomed to pulling in the harness. To show your dog it is okay to pull have a friend hold a treat or toy a few meters away. Practice using command words such as "pull" an d "stop". If you are new to joring, start with trails that are relatively flat, straight and have defined edges. Keep the initial sessions short and reward the dog with praise and treats. Never leave the harness on the dog unattended and always have water available. It helps to use this harness exclusively for joring activities, so your dog associates only this harness with pulling, and remove promptly after the session so the dog knows pulling time is over.
All pulling harnesses come with a complimentary safety snap shackle clip. For those without a proper human joring belt, please use this safety snap shackle for your hands free leash or other connection. It will allow you to quickly release yourself from the dog if you start to lose control. NEVER loop the leash/towline around your hands or fingers when in action. Please note that partaking in joring with a dog poses potential physical danger to both human and dog. If you are new to joring please minimize the risk to yourself and your dog by practicing in safe traffic free areas.
Measure Girth and Neck to determine harness size. The fit should be snug but not restrictive. If the harness is too loose there is the risk that the dog may wiggle out of it when secured in the car. Check fit periodically to ensure that the harness hasn't loosened over time.
Measure under your dog's chin around to right behind the ears. Place your finger under the measuring tape to ensure enough space for your dog to be comfortable. Fit the selected muzzle on your dog. Test the fit by running your finger inside the strap. Your dog must be able to pant and have free tongue movement.
The Short Snout Muzzle was designed as a temporary restraint only and makes a perfect addition to your Pet First Aid Kit. Never leave a muzzled dog unattended as prolonged use or improperly fitted muzzles can affect a dogs panting, or natural ability to cool itself.
Measure around your dog's snout, just behind the nose. Place your finger under the measuring tape to ensure enough space for your dog to be comfortable. Fit the selected muzzle on your dog. Test the fit by running your finger inside the nose band. Your dog must be able to pant and have free tongue movement.
The Soft Fit Muzzle was designed as a temporary restraint only and makes a perfect addition to your Pet First Aid Kit. Never leave a muzzled dog unattended as prolonged use or improperly fitted muzzles can affect a dog's panting, or natural ability to cool itself.
Measure girth and neck to determine vest size. The fit should be snug but not restrictive. The High Vis Dura vest is meant to fit short on the dog so as not to add unnecessary warmth. The High Visibility Vest is made of mesh so it will allow more allover coverage and color.
Measure girth and length to determine lifejacket size. A lifejacket should fit shorter than a traditional dog coat, as the flotation is meant to be concentrated on the front half of the dog. If you are between sizes make sure you are not outside of the recommended weight classes.
